As a new member of this site I thought I should make myself known, and give everyone a few of my details...
Over the past two years, I have been studying Piano Tuning And Repairs at Newark College, which is run by John Lord of Lincoln Pianos. Outside of which I have gained invaluable experience having worked alongside Phil Taylor (Phil Taylor Pianos).
I am currently taking on tunings and minor repairs, as well as teaching the piano, before setting up as a full Piano Tuner-Technician in the Nottinghamshire area.
I look forward to exploring this site further and meeting any other tuners out there
Greetings from the Great Northwest....
Steve Malloy here {Piano Tech.} from Silverdale, WA State; we're in the Kitsap Peninsula straight west of Seattle. There's so much water here that we need to take the WA State Ferry across Puget Sound if you wish to get to Seattle in a hurry {even at that it's an hour ride; If you drive it's about a 2 hour trip}. We moved out here 6 months ago to be near Family & the Grandchildren; am Semi-retired, but I am still working while I'm healthy. I'm a U.S.Navy Veteran having served from 1968-72 during that horrific Viet Nam war. Following the sale of my 30 year Piano Business in MN, am setting up shop here in Silverdale-Bremerton area. I very recently accepted the position of Sr. Choir Director at Peace Lutheran Church {LCMS} here in Bremerton. I posted a Blog/commentary at the "tips & techniques" section here related to Climate Control issues on pianos about which I'm very passionate; so feel free to include commentary of your own.
