Additional Info: The process of learning the art of piano tuning started in 1978 in a school in Florida. A Baldwin course was also taken in Aspen, Colorado, and another in Memphis, TN, with Aeolian. I have tuned well over 15,000 pianos since 1979 in Ashland, Coshocton, Holmes, Tuscarawas, Wayne, Stark & Richland Counties in Ohio. Tuscarawas County (including Sugarcreek, Dover, New Philadelphia, Strasburg, Port Washington, Newcomerstown, etc.) is my largest clientele. Tuning for some of the great concert pianists including Dino Kartsonakis, Calvin Taylor, Timothy Noble and many others was/is quite an honor! I am recommended by several music stores. A piano if maintained is a beautiful musical instrument that needs tuned twice or at least once a year. I have found a myriad of items in pianos from a snake skin, cat manure, money, jewelry, etc. and some unmentionables. The oldest piano that I tuned was a Steinway built in 1876. I make it a practice not to eliminate previous tuners, dates or other pertinent information. It can serve as a record of when the instrument was tuned and by whom. This can be very helpful not only for the owner, but the future piano technician. Please feel free to contact me for a tuning, regulation, etc. in your home, school, church or concert hall. I am as close as a phone call or email. I also rebuild/repair reed pump organs. The oldest that was brought back to life was made in 1877. Soli Deo gloria
Fees: My tuning fee is $80 plus tax locally (10 miles from Coshocton) and $83 plus tax in surrounding areas for a basic tuning with some minor repairs. I try to do multiple tunings in an area to keep the cost affordable. Installation of humidity systems are at my cost plus a nominal installation fee ($20 - $40). Usually the rule of thumb is my cost of the item plus a nominal installation fee.
